Here is your design process for custom invitations. As you should have discovered by now, designing and printing invitations is not a simple art. There is still a lot of creativity and a lot of judgment involved when developing a good and inviting layout for those color invitations.

To organize how you actually get to that final and effective invitation design, I will give the seven specific steps that you must follow. Read below and apply these to your process. It should be easy then to get the most ideal designs for your color invitations.

1. Determine the size and scope of the theme of the event.

First up, determine the theme of the event. You will want to match the invitation design to the event itself. This helps make things more coherent as people will expect the kind of event or party that they will be going to presented in those invitations. So make sure that you understand the whole scope and size of the theme of your event.

2. Ascertain your precise goals with the custom invitations.

Next, you should try to determine for yourself the precise goals that your custom invitations have. Besides the obvious goal of inviting a lot of people, try to make sure and see if there are other important goals that your invitations must achieve.

For example, you might also want to actually impress a lot of people so that they regard the event as something really big or important. Maybe, you will also want to project a very specific image for your company that is hosting the event. Or simply, you might want to get as much people as possible with these invitations.

You must set these goals and write them down specifically, so that it is easier for you to compose your invitation designs along these guidelines. So ask yourself, what your goals are with these invitations.

3. Start brainstorming designs.

Once your goals are set, and the theme determined, you can now start the brainstorming sessions. Using those goals and themes as guides, try to just sketch out and draw some of your initial ideas. It is good to have a partner or two when you do this so that you can get better and more creative ideas. Try to create a lot of options and fully flesh out a couple that you all extremely like for your invitations.

4. Compare to other invitations.

Next, compare these brainstormed ideas to other invitations. Look online for sample invitations that professionals make. Do you see anything similar? Do you think that some of your designs can actually be better? Try to do this critical comparison to help you out determine the best paths to take in invitation design.

5. Pick the best ones and create a draft.

Afterwards, you should then be set to choose the best and most ideal design for your color invitations. Just get the one that is most competitive, that preserves the theme that you need and of course can potentially achieve the goals that you want. Start creating an initial draft of it in your design application. Make sure you flesh it out as completely as possible so that everything will look exactly like you want it.

6. Do some initial testing.

Now, before you finalize the design, you might want to do some initial testing. Print those invitation samples out and give them to several key people that you trust. Ask them to honestly grade and make critical comments about your invitation design. Try to gather as much feedback from them as possible so that you know all the strong and weak points in your invitation design.

7. Refine and finalize.

Lastly, with the testing done, you can then refine and finalize your invitation designs. Based from all the information that you gained in the first six steps, you should now be able to optimize all the different elements and maximize the chances of your invitations to become successful and impressive at the same time.

So that is the process that you should follow when designing your invitations. It is easy enough as long as you take things carefully, one at a time.
