South Padre TX is a popular resort community, with people coming back regularly for more vacations. The community is on South Padre Island, which is the barrier island on the Texas Gulf. The South Padre TX community just has about 2,500 people as permanent residents. However, this may be an understated value since many homeowners also have residences in the Rio Grande Valley. They may just be keeping their South Padre TX for more vacations, whenever they want.

It is not surprising that South Padre TX has become a favorite destination for people looking for more vacations. The climate is a great attraction, with the area enjoying a subtropical weather.

The low population rate of the community significantly rises during spring break and summer seasons. College students flock the island yearly, as well as other tourist,s just to get the unique island feel and of course, get more vacations. South Padre TX is popular among Texan tourists, as well as those coming from neighboring Mexican states, such as Tamaulipas and Nuevo Leon.

During spring break at South Padre TX, resorts hold a Texas Week festival. Several events are held during Texas week, like gamer competitions, car shows and more. and course, what’s spring break without a lot of partying?! Several party venues are set up to make sure everyone has fun on their spring breaks.

Summer is another tourist heavy season for South Padre TX. With the sweltering heat of summer, the waters of the ocean loudly beckon. Tourists searching for a respite from the heat and more vacations flock into the island paradise.

There are seasonal travelers into the island during wintertime too. To these travelers, the island’s climate is a relief from cold winter realities. They often bring mobile homes and trailers. A lot of these travelers come from the north and the Midwest.

Water sports are popular in South Padre TX. You can rent gears and equipment at any seaside resort. You can also sign up for one of the many activities, like banana boat rides and parasailing. Likewise, along the shore, you can join sandcastle creation workshops and competitions. You can even go horseback riding on the beach. There are dolphin watch tours you can join. These usually leave in the early morning. Ecological tours travel through the Padre Island National Seashore and can be a lot of fun.

If fishing is your thing, you have options for that too. You can even join the Texas International Fishing Tournaments and win around a quarter of a million in prizes. There are other fishing tournaments too, that’ll surely attract the fishing enthusiast. These include the Hooters Tournament, Redfish Rodeo and the Ladies Kingfisher Tournament.

For the music lovers, there is the annual South Padre International Music Festival. Started in 2007, the festival is held every November. Several bands are invited to perform during this event. Fourteen stages are spread out; different music genres are performed in each. This includes reggae, world music, Ska, jazz, rock and more.
